Messages From Leadership

“I have joined with an enthusiastic group of community leaders to re-introduce the ’new’ Boys & Girls Club of Greater Stockton to the Community. I have great pride in being allowed the opportunity to be part of an organization that will be doing great things for our youth and making the City of Stockton a great place for our youth. I firmly believe in our motto, ‘Great Futures Start Here.’ Thank you for supporting our efforts.”

Alan Korsgaden
Advisory Council Chair
Boys & Girls Club of Greater Stockton

"I am personally elated to have the opportunity to help bring Boys & Girls Clubs back to my home community. I was fortunate to have been a member of the Stockton Boys Club in 1966, which had a tremendous impact on my life. Having the opportunity to serve as the Executive Director of the Stockton Club from 1988 - 1998 remains a highlight in my career. The “Return of the Club” provides the opportunity for countless youth to receive the positive impact of being a Club kid, preparing them for ‘Great Futures.’"

Club Facts

  1. Stockton BGC History & Status  - The original Boys & Girls Club operated from 1964 through 2015 and efforts to re-establish a new club began in 2015.
  2. Club Merger - The target opening date of the Boys & Girls Club of Greater Stockton is scheduled for August, 2018. Effective June, 2018 the club will become part of a regional organization of clubs that include clubs in the communities of Lodi, Merced County, and Stanislaus County, a merger supported by the Boys & Girls Clubs of America. The merger will enable the member clubs to operate with less administrative overhead, more operational efficiencies, and increased economies of scale.
  3. The Plan - In the beginning, it is our plan to open a facility in an area of high-need (St. Marks Church) with access to an Art Room, Computer Lab, Learning Center, Nutrition Classroom, Games Room, Counseling Room and Gymnasium accommodating the needs of today’s youth. Our long-term plan (3-5 years) is to acquire or build a state of the arts 20,000 square foot Boys & Girls Club facility in the Stockton community.
  4. Fundraising Goal - For the first year our goal is to raise $356,101. Our second year goal is $404,419 and another $416,261 the third and final year, for a total of $1.2 million dollars.
